The new ultra-high performance, fully integrated and calibrated Dual Channel Airborne Mapping System RIEGL VQ-1560i is well prepared for fulfilling the challenging demands of even complex airborne mapping missions. Based on RIEGL's sophisticated waveform processing LiDAR technology, the system is capable of online waveform processing as well as full or smart waveform recording, resulting in unsurpassed information content on each single target.

Overview

The new VQ-1560i provides a laser pulse repetition rate of up to 2 MHz resulting in more than 1.3 million measurements per second on the ground and operates at an altitude of up to 15,500 ft. That allows operation at varying flight altitudes resulting in a wide range of point densities. Thus, the system is ideally suited for aerial survey of ultra-wide areas as well as of complex urban environments. By the way, faster and more efficient flight planning and safer flights are enabled.
The RIEGL VQ-1560i comes with a unique and innovative forward/backward looking capability. This enables capturing data from multiple angles more effectively and more accurately at high point density. With its large field of view of 58 degrees and its widely variable scan parameters the system enables highly efficient scan data acquisition.

NEW RIEGL VUX-1

The RIEGL VUX-1 is a very lightweight and compact laser scanner, meeting the challenges of emerging survey solutions by UAS/UAV/RPAS, gyrocopter, and ultra-light aircraft, both in measurement performance as in system integration. With regard to the specific restrictions and flight characteristics of UAS, the RIEGL VUX-1 is designed to be mounted in any orientation and even under limited weight and space conditions. Modest in power consumption, the instrument requires only a single power supply. The entire data set of an acquisition campaign is stored onto an internal 240 GByte SSD and/or provided as real-time line scan data via the integrated LAN-TCP/IP interface.

    RIEGL LMS-Q160

    The RIEGL LMS-Q160 is a compact and extremely lightweight 2D scanning laser radar optimized for detecting even low-cross-section targets such as wires, thin branches etc. The instrument is designed for operation as an anti-collision sensor for unmanned airborne vehicles but can also be advantageously used for land vehicles and surveillance applications. It is based on the time-of-flight measurement principle using short infrared laser pulses and opto-mechanical scanning to provide on-line range and angle data of targets within the scanner's field-of-view (FOV).

    Complete Platform Systems

    All-purpose system for airborne laser scanning and photogrammetry The RIEGL CP system for ALS is a completely integrated, tested and calibrated airborne measurement configuration using mainly RIEGL components. It is designed to be used built-in a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft providing appropriate mounting structures for rigid and secure installation above an opening in the body of the aircraft. The RIEGL airborne laser scanner, the IMU and the aerial digital camera are directly mounted onto the same platform. Further parts of the system (e.g. FMS and data recorder) are located outside the platform inside the aircraft. The key component of the system is a state-of-the-art echo digitizing RIEGL airborne laser scanner (RIEGL LMS-Q680i, LMS-Q560, VQ-480, or VQ-380) operating at high laser pulse repetition rates. An inertial navigation system with an integrated GPS receiver (INS/GNSS unit) provides highly accurate position and orientation data. The system is complemented with the proper means for high-speed data recording of full waveform data, the RIEGL data recorders DR560, DR560-RD or DR680, guaranteeing uninterruptible storage of data acquired with RIEGL high speed laser scanners. The integrated software package offers all the functionality necessary to process the acquired raw data (laser scanner data, GPS raw data, IMU raw data) to attain high-precision georeferenced data in WGS84 or UTM projection.
