Description

Overview

The Velos V3 is a Group II unmanned helicopter (25 kg / 55 lbs) designed with a traditional rotorcraft configuration, offering versatility and reliability for a wide range of applications.

The aircraft features a three-bladed main rotor, a three-bladed tail rotor, and a carbon fiber fuselage with forward and aft canopy covers. It is equipped with a three-leg landing gear system and is powered by four high-voltage lithium polymer battery packs (48VDC).

The Velos V3 utilizes a patented twin transmission design that is designed to provide redundancy, reliability, and safety.

Fully Redundant Twin Transmission Design

The patented twin transmission enables the aircraft to tolerate the complete failure of critical components while still allowing a safe landing.

The system is designed to tolerate failure of:

  • Gears
  • Bearings
  • Main battery
  • Servo

The system automatically isolates the faulty component without introducing additional drag to the operational drivetrain. Critical components operate at 50% of their maximum capacity.

Its 55 cm payload rail system includes M4 threaded mounting points every 40 mm, allowing integration of a wide variety of payloads and sensor packages.

The Payload Over the Rotor (POR) allows installation of:

The POR is located on the center of gravity (CG) axis, allowing payload integration without affecting the aircraft’s center of gravity or flight parameters.
