It supports payloads from 0.1 kg to 10 kg, includes a 55 cm payload rail, offers Payload Over the Rotor (POR) capability, and features an open architecture compatible with CubePilot OrangeCube, Mission Planner, and UgCS flight control software.
Overview
The Velos V3 is a Group II unmanned helicopter (25 kg / 55 lbs) designed with a traditional rotorcraft configuration, offering versatility and reliability for a wide range of applications.
The aircraft features a three-bladed main rotor, a three-bladed tail rotor, and a carbon fiber fuselage with forward and aft canopy covers. It is equipped with a three-leg landing gear system and is powered by four high-voltage lithium polymer battery packs (48VDC).
The Velos V3 utilizes a patented twin transmission design that is designed to provide redundancy, reliability, and safety.
Fully Redundant Twin Transmission Design
The patented twin transmission enables the aircraft to tolerate the complete failure of critical components while still allowing a safe landing.
The system is designed to tolerate failure of:
- Motor
- ESC
- Belt
- Gears
- Bearings
- Main battery
- Servo
The system automatically isolates the faulty component without introducing additional drag to the operational drivetrain. Critical components operate at 50% of their maximum capacity.
Customization & Compatibility
The Velos V3 features an open architecture designed for hardware and software integration.
Compatible Features
- CubePilot OrangeCube flight controller
- Plug-and-play hardware integration
- Plug-and-play software integration
- LTE compatibility
- 5G compatibility
- Satellite module compatibility
- Data links operating at:
- 850–900 MHz
- 1.4 GHz
- 2.4 GHz
- 5.8 GHz
The aircraft can be controlled using:
- Laptop with RC unit
- Rugged Ground Control Station (GCS)
The default configuration is compatible with:
- Mission Planner
- UgCS flight control software
Payload Capabilities
The Velos V3 supports payloads ranging from 0.1 kg to 10 kg.
Its 55 cm payload rail system includes M4 threaded mounting points every 40 mm, allowing integration of a wide variety of payloads and sensor packages.
Payload Over the Rotor (POR)
The Payload Over the Rotor (POR) allows installation of:
- Payloads
- Antennas
- Sensors
- Parachute
The POR is located on the center of gravity (CG) axis, allowing payload integration without affecting the aircraft’s center of gravity or flight parameters.
The unobstructed 360° and sky views support configurations such as:
- 360° panoramic camera
- Dual camera configuration
